Discussion of the research project in the international scientific community
The discussion of the quality of your research within the international scientific community is an essential part of scientific working. Generally this happens by a publication in a peer reviewed, international journal and by contribution at international conferences that are subjected to peer review.
The discussion of your doctoral project in the international scientific community has to be done minimum one time during your doctorate.
To support this, the TUM GS as well as the GZW, the TUM University Libary provide a variety of offers.

Criteria for publication-based dissertation can be found in §6 and Annex 6 of the current Regulations for the Award of Doctoral Degrees as well as in the decicion of the School Council from 17.10.2018 and 05.05.2021.

To accept the discussion of your doctoral project in the international scientific community according to §8 2. d) Regulations for the Award of Doctoral Degrees, it has to be confirmed by your supervisor (Statutor Regulations TUM GS §15 (5)).

The discussion of the doctoral project in the international scientific community minimum one time during your doctorate is a mandatory element of the TUM-GS qualification program.
