Doctoral representatives

All doctoral candidate at Graduate Center Weihenstephan (GZW) elected two doctoral representatives. They are members of the Graduate Council at TUM and represented the members of GZW. Additionally they have the right to hospitality in the Faculty council of the TUM School of Life Sciences.

Supervisory Award 2020

Nominate your supervisor

this year the TUM Supervisory Award is entering its third round with the nomination period kicking off now!

The Award is presented each year to honour and promote best practise in supervision across graduate centres. The TUM Graduate Council therefore calls on each of you to nominate your favourite supervisors for the Supervisory Award 2020 via email at your graduate centres until February 28th, 2020.    

Following your nominations, the TUM Graduate Council will conduct a multi-step review process and then decide for the best doctoral supervisor based on the criteria formulated in the Position Paper on Good Supervision

The best three supervisors of the Graduate Center Weihenstephan will be awarded and get a win of 250€ each for their working group.

Winner Supervisory Award 2019

In 2019, 9 supervisors were nominated by their doctoral students at the GZW. From the nominees, the top 3 supervisors of the Graduate Center were elected in a preselection. These are:

Prof. Dr. Pfilipp Benz (Wood Bioprocesses)

Prof. Dr. Martin Klingenspor (Molecular Nutritional Medicine)

Dr. Timo Stark (Food Chemistry and Molecular Sensory Science)

During the GZW Summer Party on Friday, the 19th of July 2019, they received a certificate for their achievements. In addition, they were honoured with a prize money of 250€ each for their working group.

The TUM's best supervisor will be elected by the Graduate Council and announced by the president of TUM at Dies Academicus.
